Richard Connell

Richard has broad experience in the resolution of shipping, trade, and offshore disputes. His recent experience has focused on dry shipping and offshore work where he has acted on charterparty, bill of lading, and various other trade and commercial disputes for owners, charterers, insurers, offshore contractors, and state-owned companies. Richard also has experience drafting and negotiating shipping and offshore energy contracts including seven months spent on secondment at a leading offshore energy contractor.

Richard is admitted to practice in New Zealand, Australia (NSW) and England & Wales. He has practiced law in Sydney and London and prior to joining Nordisk, Richard worked in the Marine and International Trade team at Stephenson Harwood before moving to the FD&D department of North Standard in 2024. Richard joined Nordisk in May 2025.
