Michael Brooks joined Nordisk in 1999, after previously being a partner in the leading London shipping firm Sinclair, Roche & Temperley, where he was head of its Hong Kong litigation practise.
During his years in Hong Kong Michael served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Maritime Court Users Committee and was a panel member of the HKIAC.
Michael has extensive experience in international litigation, both in court and arbitration. He has been appointed as both sole and panel arbitrator. Areas of special expertise include international trade finance, ship construction and repair, offshore, FPSO and shuttle contracts and charterparty issues.
Michael has been a visiting professor of law at Dalian Maritime University in China and has lectured in English contract law at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law, Oslo. He is an external examiner for the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo.
