Helle Kjærstad Brudevoll graduated from the University of Sussex in 1997 with a first class degree in law. On completing the post-graduate legal practice course with distinction, she joined Stephenson Harwood in 2000 as a trainee, qualifying as a solicitor in their shipping litigation department in 2002. Helle subsequently joined the shipping and offshore group of Reed Smith (then Richards Butler) and was promoted to partner in 2012. She moved on to become a partner with Michelet & Co in Oslo in 2017, and subsequently in Schjødt law firm on these firms merging.
Throughout her career, Helle has focussed on servicing the needs of clients within the shipping and offshore energy industries. She has extensive experience of English High Court litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes, as well as security, enforcement, restructuring and other legal processes worldwide. Helle is also very experienced in drafting and negotiating all forms of contracts relevant to the shipping and offshore energy industries.
