Magne Andersen graduated in 2000 from the University of Oslo, where he held a research assistant post and has since served as an external examiner.

Magne has considerable experience of drafting and negotiating charterparties, as well as contracts for shipbuilding, repairs and conversions, sale and purchase agreements, and more. He is an experienced litigator and has been on the BIMCO sub-committees for a series of standard contracts, including ASBAGASVOY, ASBATANKVOY and GENCON 2022.

Magne has previously worked at Nordisk’s Singapore office, and has been the President of the Norwegian Maritime Law Association. He is also a member of the Standing Revision Committee of the Nordic Marine Insurance Plan, the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association Documentary Committee, the BIMCO Documentary Committee, and the Maritime and Transport Committee of the Norwegian Centre for Continuing Legal Education.

Magne was a co-editor of the Scandinavian transport law report journal (Nordiske Domme) from 2006 until 2022. He also has experience as an arbitrator, including acting as sole arbitrator and under NOMA and ICC Rules.
