He will take over as head of the Singapore office while Magne Andersen will return to the Oslo office after more than four years of valuable service in East Asia.
Ian Fisher is a qualified English solicitor with more than ten years post-qualification experience. He was most recently a partner at K&L Gates, a leading global law firm, in the Singapore office. Ian previously worked in London for Ince & Co and in the London, Tokyo and Singapore offices of DLA Piper in the litigation and disputes resolution team.
His practice has concentrated on dispute resolution and international arbitration with a particular emphasis on shipping, construction (offshore, marine, building and infrastructure), international trade and insurance (both non-marine and marine) disputes.
He has experience conducting international arbitrations with seats in numerous countries under various auspices including UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, LMAA, SIAC, SCMA and GAFTA. Ian also has substantial experience in conducting litigation proceedings before the English High Court.
Before taking on his duties in Singapore, Ian will work in the Oslo office between April 8 and June 15. This will give him a good opportunity to become better acquainted with our organisation and our members.
